Ultrasound (Diagnostic Ultrasound)
Ultrasound produces live, real-time images by sending high-frequency sound waves into the body and recording the echoes that return. It involves no ionizing radiation, is completely painless, and is one of the most flexible tools in modern diagnostic imaging.

Common Questions
Is ultrasound safe during pregnancy?+
Yes. Diagnostic ultrasound has been used safely in obstetric practice for decades and involves no ionizing radiation. It is considered safe for both the patient and the developing fetus when performed by a qualified technologist.
Will the gel stain my clothes?+
The gel we use is water-based and wipes off easily. We provide towels after every exam, and it should not affect your clothing.
Do I need a physician order for an ultrasound?+
If you are using insurance, your plan will almost certainly require a referral or physician order. Self-pay patients do not need a referral in most cases. Call us and we can help clarify.
